A treehouse, glamping or unique cabin wedding, even if it’s a microwedding, is an invitation to adventure, intimacy, and pure magic.
Imagine exchanging vows amidst the rustling leaves, high above the ground… Returning from vows in the wild to a beautiful glamping tent nested into the stunning surrounds… Or, “I Do”s whisked into the breeze from an amazing overlook in front of a breathtaking unique cabin…
No matter where you end up, your Enchanted Canopy Collection wedding will put you two in a setting that feels both magical, deeply personal, and completely you.
To to fully embrace the experience and bring your treehouse wedding dreams to life, you need a curated selection of vendors who can enhance this extraordinary experience. By being surrounded by an intentional team of vendors, your very favorite people, and the wild…you can’t go wrong.
As an experienced elopement photographer, elopement & micro-wedding planning concierge, I’ve done a lot, seen a lot, and learned even more. Below you’ll find all my expert thoughts that help on this journey. I’m talking about key vendors to consider, how to pick the right ones, and a secret that might be your best ally in crafting an unforgettable event.
Vendors you absolutely want for your Treehouse Wedding
Not all vendors are made the same. Below I have listed out the vendors I highly recommend for any microwedding. PLUS, I’ve included some tips on finding the right vendors for you.
An Adventure Wedding Photographer
Obviously I had to put this one first 😉.
An adventure wedding photographer is so much more than just any photographer.
We are not only skilled at taking breathtaking images, but also skilled at adapting to the outdoors and adventure. You want someone that can:
- Keep pace with any adventure
- Create beautiful experiences in the wilds–for example: twinkle lights for your backcountry cabin or a beautiful picnic carried by horseback or helicopter!
- PLUS, who can capture stunning images of your candid moments in any conditions nature throws at you.
The reason this is a MUST for any wedding experience is because it ensures that your magical multi-day elopement or micro-wedding experience is documented with timeless memories.
Think hard before you hire a photographer for your treehouse wedding who has limited experience with non-traditional wedding photography or someone unprepared for an adventure.
While the price might seem tempting, and yes, experience photographing weddings is helpful, the technicalities of capturing the unique moments and scenes of this kind of event and location take a trained eye to show the real experience. And, I’ve always got my Wilderness First Aid training AND my Mary Poppins adventure supply bag ready for whatever you could encounter while on the trails or in the trees!
Out of all your Treehouse Wedding Vendors, An adventure photographer is a MUST, don’t skimp necessity.
Floral Designer for your Treehouse Wedding
Florals offer such an incredible opportunity to set the scene of your wedding experience. The right floral designer will capture the vibe you want for your treehouse microwedding, while enhancing the environment you’re in.
I’ve had many couples say they aren’t sure they want florals at their microwedding or elopement, but once they see how interesting and beautiful they are in motion in these amazing places, decide to add them in. They always end up loving the way the florals can increase the natural beauty.
And, know that if you don’t prefer roses, or other traditional styles, shapes or designs for your florals, that is PERFECTLY OK! I’ve had couples choose bouquets, boutinierres and more from the following:
- “Greens only” style (NO blooms as all!) for wild boho feel
- Wooden floral pieces for unique colors, and, lasting beauty (especially in very cold or tougher conditions)
- Succulent pieces that are beautifully hardy, and, can be replanted
- More traditional feeling “tidy” bouquets
- Big, bold and free boho “market” style bouquets that thrive in motion
So in sum, your floral decor can be as unique as YOU.
Another concern some couples have is that having a floral vendor at your treehouse wedding will turn your microwedding into a more traditional experience. That isn’t true.
Your florals don’t need to be glitzy or glam, instead find a florist that can adapt to a more organic, natural arrangements tailored to the space and the adventures at hand. I promise–wildly over-the-top floral arches, walls, or insanely expensive installations are NOT required😉
An alternative to hiring a florist is to simply buy flowers and DIY your arrangements. (Don’t worry, I’ve learned a few things over the years and happy to give guidance to get you started exploring!)
Caterers with a Passion to Create an Experience
A great caterer will love to create an experience with their meals, and with our Enchanted Canopy Collection of venues, we thrive on experiences!
By having spectacular, worry-free meals, you can absolutely enhance your overall microwedding or elopement experience. Ideally, you’ll want a caterer that is passionate and can create a fresh, locally sourced menu that reflects the season and location. This takes your treehouse experience to a whole new level.
And again, this is one where your personality, goals and vision for the experience can shine through!
From cozy family style meals, to formal plated courses… Delectable eats for activity in motion that surprise and delight you and your guests. SO MUCH IS POSSIBLE.
Oh, and don’t forget the celebration treat–creativity rules the day here too!
Planners & Event Rentals for your Treehouse Wedding
True partnership with an event designer or planner, and/or a rentals are another way to level up the vibe of your wedding experience.
From ceremony staging items to create a sense of “space” where you say your vows, to seating, decorative items for tables, lighting, or food presentation, working with an event designer, planner and/or event rental agency to incorporate touches like these that take the vibes for your intimate celebration in the direction you want.
When working with set ups for your crew in a micro-wedding, or, in creating a true luxe experience for just you two, a planner/event designer is your secret weapon to the most beautiful of experiences that inspire, surprise and delight. You won’t regret it😍
Trained Professionals at your Microwedding
Depending on the type of adventure you have designed for yourselves and/or your loved ones, there could be several other types of vendors who are pros at their crafts that you may want or need to engage!
Here’s a few below, but know that there as your adventure calls for it, I’ll be ready to help you find the right resources to create the most amazing experiences!
Officiant-
You may want an officiant to lead a ceremony for you who can show up with the right expectation of what is included in your wedding experience.
This might be someone close to you, your officially ordained heli pilot, jeep driver or rock climbing guide (woot!), or someone super fun like Officiant Jimmie, or even going with someone in your crew as a “ceremony lead” and having me sign that marriage license (yes! I’m a licensed and ordained non denominational officiant!!)
Adventure Coordinators or Guides-
Experiences are at the heart of ALL we do in EVERY elopement and microwedding with me whether they are Enchanted Canopy Collection locations, fully unique to your vision, or anything else you can dream up!
So as we plan for what excitement, joy and adventure fits your vibe, we’ll tap into guides and companies that can help create the adventure you want for yourself and your crew.
These are things like Heli-pilots, boat captains, jeep drivers, rafting guides, glacier trekking guides, backcountry camp hosts, etc.
Partners in adventure who love what they do, and who truly enjoy helping you create your BEST EXPERIENCE EVER❤️️
Hair & Make Up Experts
When in a special experience, you may want to feel extra special in your prep!
While admittedly, it is sometimes more difficult to get hair and make up artists out to the deepest of the wilds and remote locations, we certainly do our best to help you be ready to feel amazing no matter what!
But, if you feel like this is something you really want, let’s chat! There are artists who truly specialize in beauty in adventures and on the move and would be excited to help you feel your finest!
Determining the Right Vendors for Your Treehouse Wedding
Choosing the right vendors is crucial to creating the perfect treehouse wedding. You want a team of people to come alongside you and support your ultimate vision. This means giving you the time and attention that you deserve. This means being excited to give YOU the experience you want.
Here are some tips to guide you in finding the right Vendors for your Treehouse Wedding team:
- Define Your Vision: Start by clearly defining your vision for the day. What atmosphere do you want to create? What are your must-haves? Once you have this defined for yourself, make sure you can communicate it clearly to other people.
- Check Experience and Read Reviews: Ensure that your vendors have experience with outdoor and adventure weddings. Review their portfolios to see if their style aligns with your vision. Look for reviews from other couples who have planned similar weddings. Personal recommendations can also provide valuable insights.
- Interview the Vendor: Whenever possible, meet your potential vendors in person or via video call. This helps establish a connection and ensures they understand your vision and preferences. This is where you would communicate your vision and ensure they are equipped to work in your setting.
